Why Choose Masterminds - Establishing Your Practice 101?
Masterminds differ from typical workshops or seminars because of their intentional small-group design and lead by leaders in their communities. Instead of sitting in a large audience and passively receiving information, participants are immersed in a setting that prioritizes connection, dialogue, and collaboration. The format allows for extended one-on-one conversations with peers and presenters, giving everyone the chance to dive into the issues most relevant to their practice or career. Questions are not just tolerated but encouraged, ensuring that discussions stay practical and immediately useful. Plus, each location is a bit different - from their local DPCs, to different more experienced physicians available to network, to different types of practices hosting each location. Just as the content might be slightly different, the hosting environment creates very unique opportunities not available in a larger, more generalized, hotel setting.
Another factor that sets Masterminds apart is the flexibility to go off agenda when a participant raises a specific challenge or opportunity. This means you can bring your unique circumstances to the table and receive direct feedback, insights, and strategies from others who understand your world. Beyond the structured sessions, the small group environment fosters relationship-building and trust, making it easy to form connections that last well beyond the event. It’s not about listening to a lecture; it’s about being part of a shared conversation where your voice, needs, and goals are central.

She serves as an FAA Senior Aviation Medical Examiner and performs Veteran Disability Examinations. Dr. O'Rourke lives in Chesapeake, Virginia with her husband, Jimmy, and their two sons, Logan and Jackson. She practices yoga regularly and enjoys creative pursuits, including writing for DPC News.
Tiffany Leonard, MD, was born and raised in Rock Springs, Wyoming and attended the University of Wyoming before moving to Pennsylvania for medical school at Penn State College of Medicine. She then went on to do residency in Family Medicine at Chestnut Hill Hospital in Philadelphia.
Jeffrey Davenport MD, was born in the Oklahoma City area and was raised in Edmond, San Antonio, and Bartlesville. He returned to Edmond for his full 4 year high school career and graduated an Edmond Memorial Bulldog in 1993.
Dr. Davenport spent 1993-1998 earning his bachelor’s degree in Biology with a minor in Microbiology at Oklahoma State University. Once finished with his undergrad degree, he attended the University of Oklahoma college of medicine in Oklahoma City from the years of 1999-2003 earning his degree of medical doctor.
This led to 3 years in Wichita, KS at the KU affiliated Wesley Family Medicine Residency Program. After graduation from residency in 2006, he returned to Edmond, OK and has practiced medicine there since September, 2006. Dr. Davenport was in private practice for 3 years, then employed by HCA (owners of the OU health system) for 5 years, and has now opened a medical practice he has dreamed of for years at One Focus Medical.
