New Law re HSAs

Health Savings Account

Beginning January 1, 2026, employers, employees and individuals will be able to use Health Savings Account (HSA) funds to pay for Direct Primary Care (DPC) memberships. An change in the interpretation of DPC in the tax code will make individuals eligible to use pre-tax HSA dollars to fund DPC memberships—up to $150/month for individuals or $300/month for families.

National Direct Primary Care (DPC) Day, observed on November 1, is a celebration of physician independence and patient-centered care. It highlights the growing movement of doctors reclaiming their autonomy from insurance-driven healthcare models and instead offering direct, transparent, and affordable primary care to their patients. The goal is to educate the public that they have options beyond the conventional system.
