Professional Bio

Dr. Daniel Placik is a board-certified Family Medicine physician and Diplomate of the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine with a clinical focus on prevention, metabolic health, and long-term wellness. He founded Peninsula Longevity to provide a more personalized and relationship-centered approach to care, emphasizing prevention, thoughtful lifestyle strategies, and proactive health optimization.

Dr. Placik grew up in Los Angeles and studied Public Health at the University of California, Irvine before completing medical training at Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara. He completed clinical training in Las Vegas, Nevada, and later Family Medicine residency training in rural Arizona, where he gained broad experience caring for acute and chronic medical conditions across diverse patient populations. During residency, he also completed the Integrative Medicine in Residency program through the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine.

His early exposure to traditional long-term physician–patient relationships helped shape his belief that meaningful medical care requires time, continuity, and trust. These principles remain central to his practice today.

Dr. Placik is board-certified in Lifestyle Medicine, Blue Zones certified, and maintains a strong interest in longevity science, nutrition, exercise, and evidence-based approaches to healthy aging.

Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with his wife and children, strength training, basketball, visiting local farmers’ markets, and spending time outdoors in the South Bay community.

Personal Statement
I am a board-certified Family Medicine physician focused on lifestyle and longevity medicine.

At Peninsula Longevity, my approach is centered on long-term health—preventing disease, optimizing metabolic function, and building sustainable habits that improve both lifespan and healthspan.

My practice is intentionally small, allowing for a more thoughtful and individualized approach to care. I work closely with patients over time to understand their health at a deeper level, rather than relying on brief, episodic visits.

This includes:

Comprehensive risk assessment
Advanced and routine diagnostics
Nutrition, exercise, and metabolic optimization
Ongoing physician-guided care without the constraints of traditional insurance models

The goal is simple:
To help patients stay healthy, functional, and independent for as long as possible.
