Professional Bio
Dr. Karymar del Valle Serrano, M.D. is the CEO and Medical Director of Health by Serrano, M.D. Direct Primary Care. A board-certified Primary Care Physician and Minor Surgeon, she graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Autonomous University of Guadalajara, where she was recognized for her exceptional academic excellence. She earned her medical degree in Guadalajara, Mexico, in 2006 and completed her postgraduate training at Manatí Medical Center in Puerto Rico, honing a practice grounded in clinical excellence and compassionate care.
Since relocating to Gainesville, Florida in 2012, Dr. Serrano has dedicated her career to serving underserved populations, veterans, and the field of forensic medicine. Her broad experience has shaped a deeply patient-centered philosophy—one that values accessibility, continuity, and meaningful doctor–patient relationships.
In 2023, she founded Health by Serrano, M.D. Direct Primary Care with a clear mission: to restore the heart of medicine through personalized, relationship-driven care. Her practice is guided by love, integrity, dedication, and a genuine joy in healing, allowing patients to feel seen, heard, and supported at every stage of their health journey.
Dr. Serrano lives by the principles of the Hippocratic Oath:
“May I always act so as to preserve the finest traditions of my calling, and may I long experience the joy of healing those who seek my help.”
She is married to Dr. Pedro De León Reyes, and together they are raising two children. Guided by her Christian faith, Dr. Serrano lives and leads by the words:
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” — Joshua 1:9
