Professional Bio
Dr. John Italiano, DO is a board-certified family medicine physician who was born and raised in Macomb, MI. He completed his medical school at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and residency training in family medicine at Trinity Health Muskegon. His clinical interests include preventive medicine, lifestyle optimization, musculoskeletal health, mental well-being, and faith-based wellness. He is also board-certified in osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT)—a hands-on approach that supports the body’s natural ability to heal. Patients describe Dr. John as approachable, genuine, and deeply empathetic. He takes time to listen, educate, and empower each person he serves—offering care that’s as relational as it is evidence-based. When not in the clinic, Dr. John enjoys spending time with his wife, exploring the outdoors, staying active, and cheering on his MSU Spartans. His life and practice are guided by his faith and a mission to love others through medicine.

Thrive Family Health is a membership model of healthcare that provides patients direct access to their doctor at a flat monthly fee for all services without the hassle of insurance: direct phone access to your personal physician, same-day or next-day visits starting on time and unhurried, unlimited primary care visits for urgent and chronic conditions, wholesale rates on labs, imaging, and medications dispensed in-house, and virtual care appointments via video visits or phone call.

Thrive Family Health was started to create lifelong doctor-patient relationships that are built on deep connections of authenticity, empathy, and kindness in order to support lasting wellness where people thrive physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Unlike traditional primary care offices, we limit the number of patients we serve so we can offer same-day or next-day visits, 1 hour appointment slots per patient, direct access to your doctor via text, phone, or email, and provide a warm, faith-guided, family-centered environment focused on lifestyle and prevention.
