Dr. Clara Krebs, MD

Clara Krebs, MD, is a Family Medicine specialist based in Koloa, HI where she started the first Direct Primary Care Clinic on the island of Kauai. Her passion for true doctor patient relationships inspired her to co-found the Hawaii Physicians Direct Care Alliance which she chairs. Her subspecialties include Preventive Medicine, Urgent Care, and Complementary and Integrative Medicine. Dr. Krebs completed her medical education at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in 2005, following which she did her residency in Family Medicine at St Peter Hospital, Olympia from 2005 to 2008. She has contributed notably in the domain of Alzheimer's/neurodegenerative disease research with her publication that has been cited 146 times. In recognition of her work, she has received meaningful use stage 1 certification from EpicCare Ambulatory EMR, recognition from the Physician Practice Connections and National Committee for Quality Assurance for her efforts towards patient-centered medical home. Prior to leaving insurance based medicine, she was a Board Member of Hawaii Health Partners, the largest ACO in Hawaii and Chair of Family Medicine for Kauai Medical Clinic.
